Family Excursion
Trier was the site of a great Oldie Night event. Unfortunately, we only knew about this gig last minute.
so we made a quick decision to go on a little family excursion taking our son along ...
Since we were able to move around without any restrictions we took quite a few pictures. Hope you like them.

Gronau
A gig at the "Kaleidoscope"
The Rubettes feat. Alan Williams performed their first gig in Germany for 2006 in the city of Gronau.
We took the opportunity to say "Hi" again ...
Thanks to the very kind concert organizer we were able to photograph without any restrictions and got quite a few shots.

Tielt (Belgium)
The Europe Festival
The Europe Festival took place in Tielt. The city center was all decorated to celebrate the event.
That was reason enough for us to check out the city, the festivities and of course, the performance of the Rubettes (feat. Alan Williams).
Happy to report that we were allowed to take pictures without any restrictions. Hence, we were able to bring you back lots of pictures.

Stuttgart
The Porsche Oldie Night
The weekend was no freebie, but it was pretty much in vain. Afterwards, we were quite frustrated and definitely needed a break.
However, we did take a few pictures and we finally wrote a report about the Gig in Stuttgart .......
"Giant Hits"
Rubettes feat. Bill Hurd Performance at SAT1
On Monday, 16.05.2005, SAT1 aired the show "Giant Hits." How wonderful that the Rubettes placed first. Sadly though, it wasn't the Rubettes feat. Alan Williams performing during this show. Instead, the audience got to watch the Rubettes feat. Bill Hurd. The performance was mixed with old TV shots of Alan Williams and John Richardson leaving the impression that the same band members were on stage right then and there.
We received many viewer emails indicating that this impression was also emphasized because Alan and John's original voices were blended into the performance. Once more, neither Alan nor any other band member was out sick - you were simply watching another band!

DVD and Attending Gigs

As well known by now, the Rubettes feat. A.W.will be releasing a DVD in March - also containing the Taiko Drum session. For all those who love this performance, it is a must have item!
Attending Gigs
We've been asked many times whether we'll be attending gigs in the UK. I'm afraid we'll have to pass on that. However, we'd love to get your reports and pictures and would be happy to put them up on this page.
The next gig on our calendar is the Porsche Oldie Night. It seems though that photo-access might be limited even when you are in possession of a Media Pass. So matters are up in the air right now, until this issue is resolved ...
Rubettes News
At the moment, we don't have any major news to report. However, Alan let us know that the UK Tour is going strong and the guys are truly enjoying the gigs. He provided us with additional tour dates and I am updating our tour date link accordingly. Please note, we haven't had a chance to verify the dates yet.
Tsunami Catastrophe
The Tsunami Disaster in South Asia ...
By now, everybody is aware of the Tsunami catastrophe in Asia. Many people are now depending on help. All of us can contribute a little by sharing some of our wealth. The webpage of the German television station ZDF lists many relief organizations.

Attending the gig in Arnheim on 22.11.04
We went straight after work to Holland to see Sailor and, of course, the Rubettes featuring A.W. in concert.
Even with so little time available, we still had a great night out.

Concerts Canceled
The Seventies Shows have been canceled ....
The Seventies Shows in Neumünster, Brilon and Düsseldorf have unfortunately been canceled because of a lack in ticket sales.
Tickets may be returned to the ticket agencies and are refundable.
The Netherlands "Alternative"
However, I would certainly recommend the 30th Anniversary Tour in the Netherlands as a brilliant alternative. The Rubettes featuring A.W. and Sailor will be performing together and several gigs are scheduled in locations near the German border. On Saturday, 23.10.2004, we attended a Rubettes featuring A.W. concert in Saarbrücken. Our report is now online.

We went straight from Saarbrücken to Enschede and got to see a fabulous performance.

On Sunday, 24/10/2004, a special Oldie-Festival will take place at the Music-Center in Enschede. Aside from the Rubettes featuring A.W., Shocking Blue, the Fortunes, the Honest Man and ZZ & De Maskers, will be performing! Enschede is close to the German border and easy to get to on A 31.
